007
orient Leases

Besides
being
the 007
series very
related to the East
(Chinese
and Japanese Bond
girls,
eastern
henchmen of
the villains like Oddjob, Nick Nack, Chang, Zao; and
fights using martial arts), in more than one
occasion the British spy became present in Eastern
territory. Thus it
is, sometimes China
appears concretely in the script of the film and, in the
same way, sometimes China
is represented by similar places, like Vietnam, or
Thailand.

In
You only live Twice, in which Bond performs
scenes in Hong Kong, is really
the
city of
Hong Kong, in the South China
Sea. Let us
remember that this film has the particularitity of which
- as well as in On her majesty secret service 007 gets
married-
the English spy supposedly has passed away, and
he even has
an
orbituary
warning. Great part of the film occurs
in Japan, and their allies are Japanese.

In
The they man with the golden gun,
the island
of Scaramanga is a place of Thailandia, the Peninsula of
Malay, located in the Southeast of Asia.
It's
memorable
the scene when
the
tiny and apparently inoffensive Nick Nack (henchman
of
Scaramanga) receives Bond in the island with
a tray with the
favorite champagne
of the spy, and welcomes
him in french.
The inhabitants of Thailandia have eastern
aspect because in an opportunity it
was occupied by the Japanese (it
underwent other additional
colonizations).
Images
are
shot in
Hong Kong too;
and in Macao and the province of
Guandgond, located both in the south of China.
This place has a dream aspect, ideal to acclimate
incredible histories that James Bond represents.

In the case
of Tomorrow of never dies scenes in the Bay of Pucket
are filmed, as well as in Bangkok. Let
us remember the scene when
Wai Lin and Bond sail in territorial waters of China and
the agent says to her
that "he
will be his ally", although she
had said to him that "she
would never receive aid from
the corrupt
power
of the West". The scenes of the
persecution in bike
of Bond with Wai "attached
to him"
were
filmed
part in Bangkok, Thailandia and part in Pinewood,
England.
In Die
Another day,
Bond is hospitalized
in a
MI6 ship
after having been prisoner in Norht
Korea and
undergo tortures. Its state of health
is being monitored
against his
will (and M
informs him that his
00 license is
receeded).
The boat is next to the coast of Hong Kong (in
the Yacht Club Hong Kong). The spy
escapes from
it and
goes directly
to the majestic hotel (The Rubyeon Royale Hotel) of the
exclusive club. In the hotel, he is
gentily
taken care of by a Chinese spy (Chang). The
eastern
one offers his
preferred room, his
Turnbull
and Asser
shirts
and his
favorite Champagne (Bollinger 61). When
007 arrives
by his
own means at the Yacht Club from Hong Kong,
you can see
at night
the Chinese city in all its
splendor.
